The one thing I’ve learned over my 17 years of playing sports and personal training is to not let someone teach you who can’t do it themselves, or who hasn’t done it themselves. The most frustrating part while I was training for professional sports was receiving group training or private instruction from coaches and trainers who I could out-perform. I realized over many sessions that something felt off about that and became injured from improper advice from one of these “trainers” getting ready for the 2011 CFL combine. During the most critical time in my career, I was receiving bad advice. I became fed up and realized this is way harder than it has to be. Since that injury, I have found that these cookie cutter trainers and coaches have to go. I have made it my mission to be the most honest personal trainer, and to lead by example.
This is where my skill set comes into play. I have had extensive experience in all sports, I have either done it at an elite level or played professionally. No matter your sport or your goals, I am able to understand and work through any problem and deliver results. When it comes to people’s time and money, I know how important fast and sustainable results are.
Training to get to your goals shouldn’t be full of anxiety and worry, it should make you feel like a kid again. Working out isn’t as complicated as everyone leads on. Remember, the fitness industry is exactly that – an industry. It’s meant to make money off people by confusing you with trends and “must do” fads. Over all the years, no matter how many fads and trends come into play, there are only a few things that work.
My 17 year, multi-sport professional playing experience and kinesiology background has not only allowed me to continue my professional career into my 30’s, but it allows me to still out perform people in and out of the gym. I have proven methods that work regardless of your age, fitness level, or sport you play. I offer studio, In-home or outdoor sessions as well as sports specific training for groups and teams.
